THE SHOWBROADS leave them wanting more!
“The main room at Birdland was like a Broadway opening in an MGM musical Sunday night. With a long line reaching down 43rd street, the entire club was abuzz with people excited to see The Showbroads. Every seat was filled, including those at the bar, and where a spare square of floor space could be found, a person willing to stand for the show could also be found.” ~ Stephen Mosher, Broadway World
So begins Stephen Mosher’s review. The first of five rave reviews for the debut of Leanne Borghesi and Marta Sanders‘ sold out Nightclub Duet Duel at Birdland Jazz Club in NYC on November 17. It was a thrilling night to be sure, and I’m happy to say the world hasn’t seen the last of The Showbroads! Stay tuned for more engagements in the US and abroad in 2020. Pip pip, cheerio, and all that!!
“Dana P. Rowe wowed the audience with his superb music direction, artful arrangements and clever composition (“Feminine Mystique,” from Witches of Eastwick, sung this evening by Borghesi).” ~ David Sabella, Cabaret HotSpot!
In the meantime, feast your eyes on these great pics from the evening and scan the reviews (links below). I’m so delighted to be a part of the magic by supplying the musical arrangements and music directing from the piano. My inner twelve-year-old is absolutely in heaven, working with these two magnificent performers.
“…thanks to the two Leading Ladies and writer Nathan Cann (sharing writing credit with Sanders and Borghesi), working alongside director Nicolas Minas and musical director Dana P. Rowe (whose orchestrations make the mouth water with astonished musical wonder)…” ~ Stephen Mosher, Broadway World
